Another superb stay in Hotel Garda

We have been back home a few days now since our wonderful 14 night stay in Hotel Garda in beautiful Riva. This was our 3rd stay at this hotel, on arrival we were greeted like friends with a hug each from Gabriella the owner. Amazing she remembered us after seeing so many guests come and go each year. We were allocated a lovely room on the 4th floor...
Plus We have been back home a few days now since our wonderful 14 night stay in Hotel Garda in beautiful Riva. This was our 3rd stay at this hotel, on arrival we were greeted like friends with a hug each from Gabriella the owner. Amazing she remembered us after seeing so many guests come and go each year. We were allocated a lovely room on the 4th floor with a gorgeous view of the lake. We love sitting out on the balcony watching the world go by while we relax in the warm afternoon sunshine. This hotel is fantastic, it’s spotlessly clean everywhere. The food is delicious. Such a great choice for evening meals and served by smiley staff, big thank you to Ivan who looked after us on table 66 he always made us smile and was very attentive, it was lovely to see Sonja and Felice again. All the staff are so friendly. The cocktails are very delicious and moorish, what to choose out of the lovely little drinks menu booklet. They all look and sounds so good. Coffee and cake every afternoon was something to look forward to, always very nice. Our room was kept spotless daily by our room fairy and the reception staff were so helpful sorting out bus travel etc for us. We were always greeted with a smile by all the staff. Thank you to you all for making our stay so relaxing and lovely. We hope to see you again next year. Bellissimo and Ciao ❤️

Great second visit

Just returned from second holiday at Hotel Garda. I am still of the view this hotel is second to none for service and staff. In particular my wife and I would like to single out one member of staff who was very attentive and friendly in the dining room. I think his name was EVAN and he looked after us at table 41. Unfortunately we didn't get to th...
Plus Just returned from second holiday at Hotel Garda. I am still of the view this hotel is second to none for service and staff. In particular my wife and I would like to single out one member of staff who was very attentive and friendly in the dining room. I think his name was EVAN and he looked after us at table 41. Unfortunately we didn't get to thank him as he was off on our day of leaving. Well done Evan (hope I have got your name right). Our room had a much better view than our last visit although a little bit smaller but adequate. Just a few minor things, there was no welcome drink and no anniversary surprise ( it was our 40th and the hotel had been made aware of this by email) as promoted in the Topflight brochure. As I said minor. We certainly will return in the future.

[+]Das Personal - mehrsprachig - war sehr bemüht um uns. Wir kamen um 08:00 Uhr an, konnten schon ab 10:00 Uhr ins Zimmer! Badetücher waren ebenfalls kein Problem, sodass wir uns umgehend an den Pool begeben konnten. Die Gratis-Fahrräder waren sehr gut in Schuss. Beim Check-Out konnten wir noch den ganzen Tag im Hotel verbringen. Das Frühstück war...

Badetücher waren ebenfalls kein Problem, sodass wir uns umgehend an den Pool begeben konnten. Die Gratis-Fahrräder waren sehr gut in Schuss. Beim Check-Out konnten wir noch den ganzen Tag im Hotel verbringen. Das Frühstück war umfangreich, qualitativ in Ordnung und auch Sonderwünsche wurden erfüllt. [-]Es gibt nur 2 sehr langsame Fahrstühle, wenige Parkplätze vorhanden (wir haben zum Glück einen bekommen, aber dennoch).

[+]Even 10m3 room (for onr person) is well organized inside, so it feels like a big one. [-]Reception at night is served by personal who speak only italian and are not much to get into your problem. But eventually I got what was needed.

A Great Tonelli Hotel

A near perfect holiday. So much has been written and much of it absolutely true, so I shall try and give a different style of review. Its not obvious when you get of the transfer bus just where the front entrance is as the swimming pool is situated at the front of the hotel, so just walk up alongside the hedge and all becomes clear. Go past the po...
Plus A near perfect holiday. So much has been written and much of it absolutely true, so I shall try and give a different style of review. Its not obvious when you get of the transfer bus just where the front entrance is as the swimming pool is situated at the front of the hotel, so just walk up alongside the hedge and all becomes clear. Go past the pool and past the garden seating area and then through the entrance doors and down the glass steps. You can see the bar and seating area on the right, if anything, this area is the least attractive as it appears very plain and first thoughts are a little off-putting. Face up to reception and all changes as you will be welcomed with smiles, efficiency and what seems like (and is) a genuine desire to make sure you understand all you need and thus have a great holiday. The 2 lifts are not the speediest but not really an issue. We had a standard TUI booked room on the back facing east and the mountains - incredibly scenic! For Italy, the room was larger than expected and the bathroom compact but not as small as some, and everywhere was incredibly clean. Toilettries were supplied and plenty of good quality towels. Even the outside balcony furniture and glass walling was spotless. The furniture was adequate and the bed firm. Dressing gowns were supplied with slippers (hygienically wrapped) and hotel towels for the pool area. The room also had a telephone, free wifi TV and remote, a hair dryer and good aircon. Dining in hotels can be very subjective. We have in the past deliberately eaten out when booked as all inclusive just to avoid going stir-crazy, once in another Lake Garda hotel we refused to eat in ate all! This food in this hotel is quite special. Yes it is a 4star and it does serve 4star meals and at first glance it may seem that the menu is a little restricted. In reality there was nothing we could not eat, and enjoy eating it! After a salad and antipasti buffet (help yourself) comes the starter (primo) of a choice 3 pasta dishes and then the mains (choice of 3) and then the sweet (choice of 3). 1/2 a carafe of wine and bottled water are also served (inclusive). I am told there is an a la carte choice available, but we never got near to asking for it. All the food is traditional Italian - as it should be in Italy! The waiting staff were superb, efficient without being overbearing. We were sat at the side of the restaurant near to a long table where the Tonelli family would come and eat each evening - all 4 generations of them. What an advert for the chef - the owners eat with their guests every night. There is a sun-deck on the roof, safely barriered with high safety glass. Chairs tables and sun loungers - if you can stand the heat, and also great for views over the town especially at night. Everywhere there is service with a smile and a Bonjorno from the domestic staff to waiters to bar staff and to the owners - you sense that they take pride in their hotel and guests. There are 4 Tonelli hotels in Riva - take your pick, not an easy choice. Would we go back there - yes certainly.

Just back from a week at Hotel Garda. Wish we were still there. If you're like me and spend a month scanning reviews before booking, then stop your search is over. Location is excellent couple mins walk to the lake, about 20mins stroll to the old town from where you can catch boats across the lake. Even better make use of the free bikes at the h...
Plus Just back from a week at Hotel Garda. Wish we were still there. If you're like me and spend a month scanning reviews before booking, then stop your search is over. Location is excellent couple mins walk to the lake, about 20mins stroll to the old town from where you can catch boats across the lake. Even better make use of the free bikes at the hotel and life is easy. Bikes are good enough to use around the lake or ride to Arco or Verone waterfalls but any of road biking would require hire mountain bikes. All meals at the hotel were excellent and waiting staff friendly and efficient. All hotel staff are super friendly and helpful and it really feels like a home from home. If you're looking to visit Riva book now you will love it.
